COMFORT WOMEN

"Dealing with human tragedy on an epic scale like this is, to put it mildly, challenging, and I was particularly impressed by your ability to focus on the individual experiences of the three women from the House of Healing and to tell the broader story through them. I was also impressed by your engagement with issues to do with memory and responsibility and the questions of moral accountability that haunt this play. It’s an extraordinary record of a little known story about the suffering endured by women enslaved by the Japanese, and I found Yachiyo inner conflicts particularly moving."
